G/FORE did the golf world a great service when they brought a bit of color to the world of the golf glove. Well, they’ve done it again, and this time they’ve done it with shoes.
To be honest, the introduction of a golf shoe by G/FORE wasn’t something that I saw coming. And, in retrospect, it makes perfect sense. After all, why would the stylish crew at G/FORE allow us to continue wearing those atrociously ugly and uncomfortable shoes that so many of us are frequently seen in on the course?
The G/FORE Gallivanter Shoes are the perfect remedy for the everyday golf shoe. The shoes are the ultimate in design and style while also being insanely comfortable and well made.
At first glance, it’s clear that this isn’t your normal golf shoe. The colorways are vivid and well-balanced and the styling is classic with some new-school flavor thrown in.
The shoes are so unique that I wore them around the city for a week or so before I ever took them out on the course. Honestly, I received so many compliments on the shoes that I considered never wearing them out on the golf course and giving them a mainstay in my wardrobe.
After wearing them around town for a bit, I knew that they would be great on the golf course – even for a dedicated walking golfer. The shoes are incredibly comfortable and they’re likely to stay on your feet even after your done walking 36 holes.
The outers of the shoes are made with a water-resistant suede that is something I’ve never seen before in a golf shoe before. And the pictures can tell you all need to know about the color options – they’re unique and come in a nice variety of colors.
The outsole of the shoes is made from blown rubber which results in the shoes being refreshingly light and having an “airy” quality that is super-comfortable and flexible. The shoes have a raised tread pattern that has plenty of grip for stability in your swing and is also comfortable while walking around on harder surfaces.
The shoes have a washable footbed that is removable and provides enough cushion to keep your feet comfortable all day long – even with the demands of walking the golf course.
The biggest decision you’ll need to make about the shoes are which colors you want to pick up. All of the shoes come with both matching and contrasting laces and the color combinations are every bit what you would expect from the company that brought color to the golf course.
I’m a bit hesitant to say that you should check them out because I know that you’ll like them. Just buy a pair or three and get out there and enjoy your walk – both on and off the course.
You can find the GFORE Gallivanter shoes on the G/FORE website.
These shoes are billed as water resistant but the slightest amount of morning dew on the fabric causes a water stain. This happens regularly.
unfortunately the sizes aren’t consistent. i’ve purchased 3 pair and only one fit properly. the other two were at least 1 size too large.
